MLB Game Summary - United States at Philadelphia

Clearwater, FL (Sports Network) - Chipper Jones and Adam Dunn both clubbed three-run homers to lead Team USA past the defending World Series champion Philadelphia Phillies, 9-6, in a World Baseball Classic tuneup for the Americans.

Ryan Braun and Brian McCann each hit solo home runs for the Americans, who got a pair of hits from David Wright and an RBI from Dustin Pedroia. Team USA will start pool play on Saturday against Team Canada at Toronto's Rogers Centre.

Jeremy Guthrie collected the win after giving up just one run over the first 2 1/3 innings and Jonathan Broxton posted the save with a perfect ninth.

Ryan Howard highlighted the Philadelphia offense with a three-run blast, but committed a pair of errors on the field. Jason Donald homered, while Mike Cervenak and Eric Bruntlett each added an RBI in defeat. The Phillies outhit the opposition, 12-10.

Kyle Kendrick, who is fighting for the No. 5 spot in the Phillies' rotation, was roughed up for four runs in 2 2/3 frames to absorb the loss.
