Cole Hamels wins second straight as Philadelphia Phillies edge Cincinnati 4-3

Cole Hamels scattered five hits over six innings and Ryan Howard homered as Philadelphia defeated Cincinnati 4-3 for their fifth straight win.

Clay Condrey, Ryan Madson and Brad Lidge each added a scoreless inning behind Hamels. Lidge earned his eighth save of the season.

The Phillies broke open a 1-1 game with a trio of runs in the fifth inning. Pedro Feliz, Cole Hamels, Jimmy Rollins and Chase Utley strung together hits off of Reds starter Johnny Cueto and Raul Ibanez tacked on a sacrifice fly for a 4-1 lead.

Philadelphia improved their road record to a major-league best 13-4 in 2009.
