Philadelphia Union kicks off new MLS franchise

WITH A new Major League Soccer team in town, the next step for the Philadelphia Union is to get a coach and actual players.

The Union will begin play next spring and team president Tom Veit said a coach would be selected in July or August.

He also said the building of the team is "in the works," and that the team will look for players who are "as hungry as our fans."

An expansion draft will be held for the Union after the MLS Cup, which will be played in November.
